Restart the computer
If the result is the same try a System Restore if you are daring. Please be careful about a Factory Restore. It will erase all your data.

1. Do all recommended Windows Updates
2. Have a good, up to date Antivirus program and make sure it is doing daily virus definition updates. See recommended programs.
3. Keep all programs, especially Adobe Reader and other browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) current.
4. Run a full malware scan once a month or so. See recommended programs.
5. Never click on links in emails or chat even if you think you know the person they are from.
6. When installing any software ALWAYS read all the screens and uncheck any boxes that are trying to install anything else that you do not want. Almost every piece of "free" software tries to install something you don't want on your computer like a FREE TOOLBAR.
